Engineering Supervisor – Oban

West Coast Motors is a privately owned family business established in the early 1920’s. We operate buses and coaches on a mix of school contracts, local services, school and private group hires across Argyll with local depots in Campbeltown, Ardrishaig, Oban, Mull, Bute and Dunoon.

We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for the position of Engineering Supervisor based at our busy in Oban. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the post holder will be responsible for:

· Assisting with the management of all engineering resources to ensure the provision of fit and serviceable vehicles of sufficient number to meet operational requirements

· Leading and motivating the engineering team ensuring performance of their duties and providing advice and guidance as necessary

· Ensuring vehicles and their records are maintained, allocated, and monitored as required

· To plan and monitor the quality and quantity of vehicle inspections and MOT’s and follow up on any non-compliance

· Assist with the control and recording of vehicle modification programmes

· Identify training needs and make recommendations for further training

· Ensuring all staff fully understand and comply with health and safety policies and procedures and engineering legislation

The successful candidate must have:

· A full UK driving licence, PCV licence desirable

· Time-served experience as a PCV/ HGV mechanic

· Previous supervisory experience desirable

· Ability to work independently and to take responsibility
